Homemade ketchup is much healthier than the purchased ketchup that contains a large amount of preservatives and sugars. Here in a quick version. When you make it at home, you know exactly what goes into the ketchup and that it’s indeed healthy.
Ingredients
1.5 cup tomato paste
1/2 cup white or red wine vinegar
1/4 cup honey or agave nectar
1/4 cup water
1 flat tsp salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon of a preferred seasoning mixture
Preparation
Mix all the ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat.
Lower the heat and cook for 20 minutes.
Cool to room temperature and transfer to hermetically sealed jars.
Can be stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks.
